Canada’s Covid-19 Leaders are Female

The news cycle is being dominated by covid-19 updates, and in this time of incredible uncertainty, we are lucky to be led by a group of people who know what they’re talking about (ahem, southern neighbors)!

The Toronto Star recently featured these superstars in this article. It does require a subscription, but you can also check out a tribute music video here.

And if you want to read more about them, look up:

  • Dr. Theresa Tam: Canada’s chief public health officer

  • Dr. Eileen de Villa: Toronto’s medical officer of health

  • Dr. Bonnie Henry: British Columbia’s provincial health officer

  • Dr. Jennifer Russell: New Brunswick’s chief medical officer of health

  • Dr. Janice Fitzgerald: Newfoundland and Labrador’s chief medical officer of health

  • Dr. Heather Morrison: P.E.I.’s chief public health officer

While no one can predict what will happen next, at least we can be confident in the leadership of these female (including women of color and immigrant) specialists.
